Students from several programs at American Career College got a chance to practice their skills and work with the public at the annual CAPPS Conference this October.
Held this year at the Renaissance Hotel in Long Beach, the CAPPS Conference — which stands for the California Association Of Private Post-Secondary Schools — was celebrating its 35th anniversary.
At the event, students from the optical technician, physical therapist assistant, and medical assistant programs provided demonstrations for attendees, ACC Chief Academic Officer Susan Pailet said.
"Conference attendees were so impressed with how professionally our students represented ACC," Pailet said. "Everyone spoke glowingly about how good they looked and how impressive they were as a group."
Optical technician students provided eyeglass cleanings and tightening plus tips for eyewear self-care; physical therapist assistant students shared stretches to do in the workplace; and the medical assistant students offered blood pressure and vital sign checks.
