As the rehabilitation director for Casa Colina Hospital in Pomona, Erin Casselle is always looking to hire excited, young therapists.
“It’s so important to be driven and have passion as a therapist,” she said. “We’re always looking for new graduates because they have that need and the desire to change the world.”
3 Tips from a Recruiter
1. Professionalism: "I’m big on professionalism — you always want to present yourself in a professional manner. Make eye contact, have a strong hand shake, it shows that you have confidence in yourself."
2. Passion: "To be a therapist you have to have that passion and that drive. I think you can definitely show that passion on your resume by trying the many different fields of therapy."
3. References: "I think references are very important on your resume. It shows that somebody is willing to stand beside you and stand up for who you are."
For her, one of the best reasons to work at Casa Colina is the hospital's team environment. Not only does Casa Colina want each employee to be the best they can be, she said, but they allow employees the time to make that happen.
“Casa Colina does everything they can to help foster your education and growth and to make you the best therapist there is,” Casselle said. “We see a variety of diagnoses which helps to further your clinical expertise because you’re always learning.”

What is Casa Colina?
Casa Colina is a rehabilitation hospital. It has been around for a very long time. We have multiple levels of care. We have an inpatient rehab hospital which is probably what we're most known for. We rehab neurological, stroke, brain or spinal cord injuries along with a plethora of other diagnoses. We also have outpatient care, both neurologic care and orthopedic. We also have a transitional living center for those would need to stay a little longer before transitioning back into the community.
Are you hiring?
Right now, we are hiring per diem employees, but there are always doors that open up! It’s all about getting experience in different settings to see what sparks your interests because loving what you do is one of the most important parts of being a therapist. Being per diem allows you to help out in outpatient, inpatient, TLC, or whatever is needed around campus filling in where ever you can! Full-time positions open up all the time. I was hired on as a per diem employee and then transitioned into a full-time position.
