Siukei Cordero was nervous when she first started the bachelor of science in nursing program at West Coast University-Miami, but her opinion has evolved. Now, she feels well-prepared to begin her clinical rotations and make a difference in her community.
“My experience at West Coast has been extraordinary,” Cordero said. “It has really helped me love the profession and now I know for sure that nursing is what I want to do.”
Cordero believes she's become a better student-nurse by stepping out her comfort zone and encourages each new WCU student to do the same.
“Once you become a little bit more involved in the school and you step out of that comfort zone, it's easy,” she said. “You don't feel like a fish outside of water, it really becomes your home.”
