More than 400 friends and families packed the Friendship Auditorium to attend the White Coat Ceremony for West Coast University's School of Pharmacy this October.
School of Pharmacy Dean Karen Hassell congratulated the cohort of more than 90 Doctor of Pharmacy candidates for reaching this milestone in their journey of becoming a pharmacist. Besides being a practical garment that they would become very attached to during their fieldwork, Hassell said the white coat was also a symbol of their profession.
"It's a formal mark of your commitment to pharmacy, towards being a good pharmacist," Hassell said, "that is someone who is competent, someone who is curious and keen to learn and to keep learning and someone who has integrity, shows exemplary professional behavior at all times and, above all else, is ethical and highly committed to providing the best care for patients."
