Duress Button

Duress Buttons

The Campus Safety & Security team has provided duress buttons at locations throughout our campus. The duress buttons provide prompt and direct access to on-campus security team members.

Duress buttons, labeled “Press for Security," alert campus safety and security teams to medical emergencies, aggressive or violent behaviors, and suspicious activities.

To activate a duress device, press both round buttons simultaneously. This will immediately alert campus security and the Global Security Operations Center.

Security will physically respond to the location of the duress button to assess the situation and determine if additional 911/police/EMS support is needed.

If you have any questions or concerns about the duress buttons, please contact your local campus security officer or the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) at 855-955-9911 or GSOC@westcoastuniversity.edu. As a reminder, GSOC is the 24/7 central command center for all safety and security operations, coordination, and communication.
