For Ashley M., graduating from American Career College’s Los Angeles campus wasn’t just a personal achievement — it marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to healthcare, growth, and service.
“I feel very thankful and grateful to be here,” Martinez shared during graduation. “It went by fast, and I didn’t think it would.”
Martinez, who completed the Medical Assistant program, was drawn to the profession by her belief in service to others but her journey through the accelerated program was not without challenges. ACC’s support system played a key role in her success. She frequently attended tutoring sessions and praised the faculty's dedication.
“It wasn’t the easiest, but this time I told myself: I’m going to give it my all and ask for help,” she admitted. “My instructor was the best — hard on me, but because she wanted me to be better. She made me believe more in myself.”
Martinez’s experience also highlighted the strength of ACC’s peer community. As a student ambassador, she mentored new students and helped others navigate their early weeks in the program.
“I wanted to be for others what my classmates were for me—supportive, inspiring, and always willing to help,” she said.
Her connection to ACC won’t end at graduation. Already hired by the doctor she trained under, Martinez now plans to return to ACC to pursue radiology.
“I chose radiology because it's a broad and exciting field — and I want to keep growing,” she said.
