Students,
Over the past few weeks, we have taken the opportunity to enhance our campus and develop new protocols to ensure your health and safety. These protocols are in alignment with guidelines provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Campus Safety Enhancements and Protocols
The following safety enhancements and protocols are being implemented for your safety. They include, but not limited to:
Campus Enhancements and Cleaning/Sanitization
- The campus will undergo an electrostatic deep cleaning and sterilization before we return.
- Enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the day.
- High-traffic areas such as door handles, and elevator buttons will feature a NanoSeptic self-cleaning technology.
- Ionization air filtration systems will be installed.
- Increased the number of Hand Sanitizer stations throughout the campus.
- Replacing our drinking fountains with water bottle refill stations.
- Signage has been posted to reminding you of physical distancing guidelines and personal hygiene.
- Restroom and elevator spaces will be limited as well as some common areas such as break rooms and student gathering areas that will be temporarily closed for your safety and physical distancing.
Face Mask Requirement
- Face coverings will be required on campus when in common areas, and additional PPE will be required in labs.
Lab Setting
- Classes conducted in a lab setting will only accommodate 50% of the posted room capacity.
- Full personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required in Labs.
- ACC will provide any PPE that is required by your program.
- Labs will be equipped with a cleaning caddy containing hospital-grade disinfectants for use after each lab/class.
Though we are taking all the steps necessary to maintain safety, the most effective forms of protection are physical distancing, wearing your personal protective equipment, and maintaining your personal hygiene. We do want to encourage you to bring your own snacks and a water bottle at this time.
If you are worried you may have been exposed, please contact your teacher. If you are experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19, please stay home and contact your medical provider. For a list of symptoms: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html.
As a reminder, If your class or micro-group is identified to return to campus, your faculty member will provide your return date and time.
Remember, we are all in this together. We look forward to seeing you on campus very soon.
