Nearly 700 graduates gathered at the Toyota Arena in Ontario to receive their diplomas in front of family, friends and loved ones at the Fall 2022 American Career College graduation.
The ceremony opened with the National Anthem, sung by West Coast University-Ontario Campus Registrar Kimberly Holloway, followed by a few words from Chief Academic Officer Susan Pailet and Chief Operating Officer Tim Lee.
“The healthcare industry is facing big challenges, which also brings big opportunities,” Susan said to the graduates. “The careers you’re about to embark on are essential to the health of our communities. There will always be a need for caring, brave and talented individuals like you to heal others.”
We later welcomed the event’s keynote speaker, Miguel Romero, who shared his three keys to success: pride, curiosity, and grit. Miguel is an entrepreneur and respiratory therapist who has made his mark in multiple successful business ventures which most recently include GEM Staffing for all respiratory hospital staffing needs and the nation-wide PRN Medical Staffing company.
The ceremony closed with our graduates moving their tassels from right to left as celebratory confetti filled the arena.
When asked about her journey with American Career College, vocational nursing graduate Mary Klein said, “I made lots of good friends, I enjoyed my classmates, I enjoyed my professors. It worked out well, it was what I expected and then some.
