Dear WCU Students and Faculty,
Our thoughts are with each of you as our community continues to deal with the impact of COVID-19. We continue to take precautions to protect the well-being of our West Coast University students and faculty.
The health and safety of our WCU family is our first priority. With that in mind WCU is transitioning to online learning starting Tuesday, March 17. Please note that all students will continue to attend scheduled clinical rotations as supported by our clinical partners and simulation lab during this time. All scheduled skills validations will take place at their scheduled time. Students - please check your email or Blackboard for campus-specific details.
No decision has been made on the Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 31 at the Honda Center.
The California Department of Public Health recommends the use of social distancing (i.e., reducing close person-to-person contact) as a strategy for reducing the risk of infection. In-person events have been canceled, postponed, or moved to a virtual format through May. The risk of COVID-19 remains low for our campus community, and no one on our campus has tested positive for the virus. However, we must remain vigilant to protect the health of the entire community and vulnerable populations.
Note: All WCU campuses will remain open at this time.
We are working closely with health experts and public officials while taking precautions for the safety of students, faculty, staff, and community members. Ultimately, we are focused on our core mission: delivering a high-quality education for our students, no matter how challenging the circumstances. WCU is a caring and resilient community, and we will get through this together.
With gratitude,
WCU Administration
