Updates - 03/15/2020

March 15, 2020

Communication went out to WCU-Orange County, WCU-Miami, WCU-Ontario, WCU-Center for Graduate Studies and WCU-Los Angeles students and faculty regarding the steps that our university is taking in order to consider student safety while ensuring your education is not disrupted during this time. As you may have read, we are planning to transition to online learning in the coming week on these campuses for students enrolled in General Education and in Core-Nursing didactic and skill labs. This transition to online learning will help us to validate that instructional processes and system readiness are sufficient should we move to complete virtual learning for a more extended period of time. Please note that all students will continue to attend scheduled clinical rotations as supported by our clinical partners and Simulation Labs during this time. We have received emails regarding this announcement and encourage you to check your student email for campus specifics.

  • In addition, all classrooms will be disinfected after each proctored assessment.
  • For those students who are currently bringing their own computers as part of the ‘bring your own device’ this term, please continue to do so for your proctored assessments.
  • Any students with special accommodations, you will continue to test with proctors as usual.
  • If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID19, you should refrain from coming to campus, and reach out to your faculty or student advisor for further direction.

We will continue to provide you updates and remember that our campus will remain open for you at this time and is available for studying, collaborating with your fellow students or to use Wi-Fi if you don’t have it at home. Please refer to the list of resources to ensure this pilot works for you and you have all of the support you need.
