American Career College hosted a social media fundraiser to benefit the American Lung Association in California. Representatives from the nonprofit organization visited ACC Ontario for a special presentation of the donation. Over the month and a half that the campaign ran ACC donated one dollar for every like and share of stories on ACC’s Facebook page. Over the month and a half ACC raised $6,000 for the benefit of the American Lung Association, which relies entirely on donations and volunteer efforts.
“This is going to have huge impacts actually” said Terry Roberts of the American Lung Association. Part of the donation will go towards the annual ALA scamp camp which allows them to “send up to two hundred children to camp down in Julian for children with moderate to severe asthma where they are able to go to camp and have all the fun, hike, swim do all those things and be supervised by medical staff,” Terry explained.
ACC’s Joe Cockrell was on hand at the ceremony at the Ontario campus and gathered remarks from ACC students and ALA volunteers. See video from his report above.
