American Career College Celebrates Over 1,200 Graduates at Toyota Arena

May 30, 2024

The Toyota Arena was filled with joy and pride as American Career College held its Spring 2024 graduation ceremony. The event marked a significant milestone for more than 1,200 graduates, each embarking on a new journey in their professional lives.

The event marked a significant milestone for each graduate, embarking on a new journey in their professional lives as healthcare workers. ACC-Orange County medical assistant graduate Jenna H. said her motivation to complete school was not complicated: She’s a mom.

"My kids were the reason I started and the reason I completed this. I feel like ACC taught me everything I need to know to get out there in the field and be a patient advocate,” Jenna said. “I knew that I wanted to accomplish this, and when I put my mind to something, I just have a drive, and I get it done.”

The ceremony was a vibrant affair, reflecting the diverse array of programs offered at ACC, ranging from earning healthcare certificates to associate degrees. Families and friends gathered in large numbers, cheering on their loved ones as they walked — and sometimes danced — across the stage to receive their diplomas.

Before enrolling at ACC, Nisha S. was in a devastating car accident that confined her to a wheelchair for months. At graduation, the ACC-Los Angeles surgical technology valedictorian let the crowd see how excited she was on stage, pumping her arms above her head and jogging her feet.

“Being able to come back to school and accomplish this was a dream of mine,” Nisha said. “I always wanted to be in a career where I can help other people — and helping to save lives and make a difference in others' lives is a really big deal for me.”

Keynote speaker Montielle Brandman delivered an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, dedication, and the continuous pursuit of excellence. Her words resonated with the graduates, many of whom had overcome significant challenges to reach this moment.

As the ceremony concluded, the graduates left Toyota Arena with their heads held high, ready to embrace the future and make their mark on the world.

“Find your passion, and then once you do set that goal, be ready to work hard because you have to work hard to accomplish it,” ACC-Orange County medical assistant graduate Glenda R. said. “But anything you set your mind to is possible.”
