For Cindy M., American Career College’s graduation wasn’t just about walking across the stage — it was a triumph for her entire family, who have been by her side every step of the way. This milestone is about more than just her; it’s a testament to the strength and resilience of her entire family. “I am a first generation,” she said, the pride evident in her voice. “This is big not only for myself but also my family. They’re all here to celebrate with me.”
Honoring Her Grandfather’s Legacy
When asked who inspired her to pursue this journey, Cindy didn’t hesitate. “Definitely my grandpa,” she shared. “He passed away before he could see me walk on stage, unfortunately. He’s the one that has kept me motivated throughout the entire program.”
Her grandfather’s memory served as a guiding light, especially during the toughest moments. “There were times I wanted to quit — all the time, actually — but I did it for him.”
Overcoming Challenges with Family Support
Cindy’s journey wasn’t without its hurdles. Like many students, she faced moments of doubt and exhaustion. However, she credits her family for helping her push through. “When I thought I couldn’t continue, they were the ones also pushing me,” she said, smiling.
Advice for Future Students: “It’s All Possible”
Reflecting on her experience at the Ontario campus, Cindy offers words of encouragement for future ACC students: “It’s all possible. As long as you work hard and your heart’s in it, everything will continuously work out.” Her advice to her younger self? “It’s all going to work out. I have so many people standing behind me supporting me — I had nothing to worry about.”
A Future Dedicated to Patients
Now that she’s reached this milestone, Cindy’s focus shifts to her career in healthcare. “I’m doing this for my patients more than anything,” she said. “They are the ones that deserve the best care I can give them.”
But Cindy’s journey doesn’t end here. “This is not the end of the road,” she affirmed. “I’m going to continue my education, and I encourage everybody else to as well.”
